Because of YOU…
The Damsel Home/ project currently has 506 children in it!!
- 48 girls have entered the Damsel Home this year
- 450 children have entered our community care program in 2021.
A message from the staff…
The children are thriving in the home and in our community care program. At our training center, the girls are growing and making progress with their studies. In fact, many of the children are getting ready to take their government exam, and then they will receive government certificates for sewing & tailoring and beautician skills.
Providing healing to children is also at the forefront of our work. Most of the kids have gone through our counseling and rehabilitation program called Empower as well.
- Girls in the Damsel Home received brand new footwear recently because their shoes had completely worn out.
- Four more girls enrolled in our nursing program and were accepted!! It is a 3-year course, so please pray for courage, commitment, and determination for these brave girls!
These four girls were rescued in July of 2021 and were brought to the Damsel Home. While in our care, they met 2 other girls who are currently training in the nursing program. They were so inspired by these girls and what they were doing, they wanted to become nurses themselves! All of them had done well in school and the opportunity opened for them to apply for the program. They got accepted!
Before they were rescued, their lives were very difficult, which made them vulnerable. They struggled to survive, even to find the basic necessities like food. Out of desperation and vulnerability, they fell prey to sex work. We found these beautiful girls in horrible situations and rescued them. Today, they are very happy in the Damsel Home and each has a bright future in nursing!!
