National Missing Children’s Day is in honor of encouraging parents, guardians, caregivers, and others concerned with the well-being of children to make child safety a priority. The day also serves as a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe and have a safe childhood. In the United States alone, over 460,000 children have gone missing. What can we do to protect ourselves and also honor the thousands of Missing Children every year?

National Teacher’s Day is a day to honor the teacher in your child’s life and show appreciation for them. During this time, many parents have traditionally sent coffee gift cards, cards, or apples with their children to give to the teacher; however, we at Damsel want to encourage you to be creative by giving the gift of safety!

Parenting is hard, there is no doubt about that. While many books and professionals claim to have the key to raising your children how you desire, we can all agree that what every good parent truly desires is to keep their child safe and there is nothing scarier than your child falling victim to scams that cause them to hurt themselves or being abducted. How can we as parents ensure that no matter how we raise our children that they are prepared with the knowledge on identifying friend/foe, indifferent, threat (F.F.I.T) and how to establish a healthy flight, fight, or freeze response?
